Get in shape with a skipping rope or jump rope
Here are an expert's tips to jump you, slim, fit, and healthy.
Get in shape with a skipping rope. Skipping is an excellent alternative to regular circuit training. Skipping adds an extra dimension to body awareness and gives you a better hand and foot coordination.
Jumping is part of the training of many athletes, athletics people, volley and basketball players, and, of course, boxers. Why not do what they do and try to jump?
"One of the best things about skipping is that it takes so little to get started," says fitness expert Debi Lander. You will need some comfortable shoes and a perfect skipping square.
Debi recommends the following:
* Equipment-skipping ropes are made of many different materials and have other handles. Choose a lightweight square with handles, and you will better control the Square.
You choose the right length by placing a foot in the middle of the Square, and if the handles reach approx. Chest height, then you have the correct size.
* Start with a light grip on the handles and relax your shoulders.
Keep your elbows close to your body, and your knees slightly bent. Your wrist should drive the movement of the Square. Keep an even bow on the Square as it passes your head. Make small jumps to minimize the load on the knees and ankles.
* Be creative - use your imagination when you master the basic technique. Jump backward or vary your foot movements. Try high knee lifts or scissor kicks.
* Use music that motivates you-put music with a loud beat on your facility and have extra fun while sweating.
Skipping rope or jump rope, is a great way to do fitness, and you will have a lot of fun.
